Eleven Cities Tour on a motorcycle

The Friesche Motorclub from Leeuwarden was founded in 1914, making it one of the oldest motorcycle clubs in our country. Every year on the Saturday before Pentecost, they organise the Eleven Cities Tour for motorcycles. They have been doing this for more than eighty years! It is a unique event for a maximum of 3600 motorcyclists (and their possible pillion passengers). Make sure you register in time.

Friesland is a wonderful province for a beautiful ride on your motorcycle. Friesland is pure enjoyment for motorcyclists. Touring along old, narrow dikes or along the impressive IJsselmeer lake. You will realise that Friesland is a wonderful province for you and your motorcycle. Our three favourite routes in the province of Friesland

1. From Franeker to Joure

This relatively short route (88 kilometres) will give you a good impression of the varied Frisian landscape. From Franeker in the north of the province, you will ride along small roads and through unique Frisian villages to the heart of the Frisian lake district. A route with many curves.

2. Frisian top landscapes

This 245-kilometre route takes you through Friesland's most beautiful landscapes. The trip takes you from Leeuwarden along the Wadden Sea and the borders with the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe via the lakes to Sneek.

3. Between Forest and Mudflats

This 241-kilometre route will give you a good look at the eastern part of the province. You start in Drachten and first head north to the Wadden Sea. Here you will find the Lauwersmeer National Park with its unique natural environment. You will then follow the border with Groningen to the wooded south of Friesland before returning to Drachten.
